The biggest rough diamond in the world is showcased in Antwerp!

With a weight of 1109 cts, the Lesedi La Rona Diamond is the second biggest rough diamond ever discovered.

This amazing stone was extracted in Botswana last November from the Karowé mine, property of the Canadian mining Company Lucara Diamond. The presence of the Lesedi La Rona in Antwerp highlights the leading position  of the city as World Diamond Center!

The first place in the row of the biggest diamonds ever found is hold by the Cullinan, mined 110 years ago in South Africa. This 3000+ cts stone was cut in 1908 in several superb loose stones that have adorned the British Crown Jewels for more than a century.
