Antwerp, Belgium – January 29, 2017: Following tradition, during the last three days of January, Antwerp’s diamond quarter becomes an international exhibition venue that hosts the annual BrilliAnt – the Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair. By noon time of Sunday, January 29th, hundreds of retail jewelers, jewellery manufacturers, and other diamond buying visitors were making their way into the halls of the Antwerp Diamond Bourse and Diamond Club of Antwerp to participate in the eighth edition of the fair. GENEVA – The mood was at times electric as extremely rare pink and blue diamonds sold for extraordinary prices at the magnificent jewellery auctions in Geneva, with the highly publicised “Sky Blue Diamond” achieving its pre-sale estimate in excess of US$17 million at Sotheby’s. Graff was the buyer of a 17.07-carat emerald-cut fancy intense pink diamond, the top lot in the Sotheby’s sale on November 16, for US$20.8 million. A 9.1-carat fancy vivid pink gem at Christie’s Geneva sale fetched US$18.2 million (US$2 million per carat) on November 15, the second highest price for a pink pear-shaped diamond sold at auction. Zen Diamond favours a generic approach to boost diamond jewellery sales

Turkey’s Zen Diamond plans expansion in Europe Zen Diamond, the biggest diamond jewellery store chain in Turkey, plans to expand in Europe, starting with Germany. Zen Diamond, which has been invited to attend BrilliANT in 2017, is looking to add 3-5 stores in Germany within one year, said CEO Emil Guzelis who visited ADTF in 2015. The diamond jewellery manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer has 53 stores in Turkey, and five overseas, including in Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Cyprus and Qatar. “Now one of the main goals is to promote the Zen Diamond brand across the globe by opening Zen Stores or Zen Corners through franchising,” the company says. “Zen Diamond welcomes […]
